With Week 2 officially in the books, we are getting ready for our first full five-day week of the school year! As we transition to a full schedule, we're focused on helping students build consistent routines and daily stamina. Below, you’ll find important reminders and key upcoming dates to keep on your radar for the weeks ahead.

Community Back to School Nights

Grades 3 and 6: September 16 at 6-6:45

Grades 4 and 5: September 17 at 6-6:45

Shaw's Closet

We are so excited to introduce you to Shaw’s Closet, a community resource filled with gently used clothing donated by our school families and staff. Shaw’s Closet is available to all of our families whenever needed.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that Shaw’s Closet will be open to visit during Back to School Night! We warmly invite you to stop by the Band Room, see what we have, take what you need, and learn more about how this resource can support your family. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to come in to access the closet, please email shawadmin@millburyschools.org. We are here to help any way we can.

Morning Arrival & Afternoon Dismissal Procedures

Our Goal is to Fit as Many Cars Along the Curb as Possible

Morning Arrival Notes

Students are not to be dropped off prior to 7:57 AM and must be supervised by a parent or guardian until then
Students are considered tardy after 8:10 AM
Upon arriving at school prior to 7:57 AM, please do not pass the stop sign until called forward by a school staff member
Buses and staff may pass vehicles waiting to enter, so please stay to the right as far as possible
Buses will turn left towards the bus loop
Once parent drop-off vehicles are called forward, they will travel in a single line to the right around the entire staff parking lot
Students should be dropped off out of the right side of the vehicle only
NO PASSING is allowed

Afternoon Dismissal Notes

Upon arriving to school prior to 2:28 PM please do not pass the top of the hill until 2:25 PM
Please stay to the right to allow buses to pass
Buses will turn left towards the bus loop
Once parent pick-up vehicles are called forward they will travel in a single line around the entire staff parking lot
Vehicles will be directed to the parent pick-up area by a school staff member
Students should enter the vehicle on the right side only
NO PASSING is allowed

BOOSTERTHON is Back

We’re thrilled for this year’s main fundraiser: our Shaw/Elmwood Woolies Fun Run! Our fundraising goal is to raise $35,000 for field trips and enrichment to benefit our students at Shaw and Elmwood Street Schools.

Why are we excited?

Families will gather donations through MyBooster.com by simply sharing your student’s page with friends and family. Every share makes a difference!

Students will also enjoy 'Global Kitchen Club,' an exciting character-building adventure where they'll learn important values through recipes and activities popular around the world.

Birthday Book Cart

Do you want to help promote the love of reading for students at Shaw? This year at Shaw, we will once again have The Birthday Book Cart. Every day after a student has their birthday recognized during morning announcements, they will get to choose a book they WANT to read and keep from The Birthday Book Cart. If you would like to support The Birthday Book Cart, you can purchase a book from our Amazon Wish List, or please feel free to drop off new books or donations to purchase new books at the main office at any time.
