A message from Technology Services

Educational technology comprises powerful tools that enhance our entire learning community.

For our families, it provides greater insight into their children's education, enhances communication with schools, and offers valuable resources for at-home learning, fostering a stronger partnership in their child's academic journey.

For our students, technology unlocks engaging and personalized learning experiences. It caters to diverse learning styles, promotes collaboration, and provides access to vast resources, cultivating essential digital literacy skills for future success.

For our staff, EdTech offers innovative teaching tools, streamlines administrative tasks, and facilitates personalized instruction. It empowers educators to create more dynamic and effective learning environments, ultimately enriching the educational experience for all.

Let us know how we can help.

Student Data Privacy Services for Educational Institutions | TEC

Learning applications that have been "Trusted" and approved for use in Millbury by the SDPC can be found here.

As school districts continue to invest in digital resources, more attention is being paid to the learning applications we use, how they collect data, and how they use the data they collect.  Millbury Public Schools is a member of the Student Data Privacy Alliance and has data privacy contracts with the vast majority of the applications we use.  We will continue to evaluate the applications currently in use in the classroom and approve new applications as needed.  Currently, these applications do not have agreements with MPS.

UPDATE

Recently, Google has changed its license for specific apps that are not part of the Google Workspace for Education bundle.  Additional Services, such as YouTube and Google Translate, now require parental consent when not embedded in another approved Edtech application.  In grades PK-6, we have decided not to use these applications due to the license requirements.  In grades 7-12, parents must provide consent at the beginning of the school year to allow their children to use these applications.  Consent can be given through the back-to-school paperwork on FamilyID.
