Good morning, Woolie families!

I hope that this message finds you doing well!

It is hard to believe that we are already trending toward the end of July.

Before we get into August, I wanted to share an additional update for families about the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Per usual, I will be sending an additional update prior to the start of the year, which will outline some of the opening day and week logistics.

Updates for 2026 - 2027

Cell Phone Policy Update

During the 2025-2026 school year, the School Committee voted to update the districtwide cell phone policy to align more with the direction that the State and DESE are moving toward.

The State and DESE have been vocal about banning access to devices during school hours, which is a change for our school.

We are sharing the updated information early this summer with families, as we will be implementing the plan from day 1 of school.

Student Attendance Update

As part of the State's ongoing efforts to improve student attendance, we wanted to share an infographic outlining our expectations for student attendance as we enter into the 2026-2027 school year.

Updated Half Lunch Procedure

DESE recently mandated that districts update their Lunch Protocols for Half Days.

Should your student want to receive lunch on early release days, please see the visual below for information regarding our updated procedure.

August 12 - 14: Band Pre-Camp @ Shaw (for Student Leadership, Percussion, and Color Guard)
August 17: Student Parking Registration Opens!!
August 19 - 23: Band Camp @ Shaw (entire Marching Band)
August 26 and 27: New Teacher Orientation in the Media Center @ 8:00
August 31: Staff Welcome Back/First Day of PD @ 8:30 in the High School Auditorium
September 1: Staff Second Day of PD
September 2: First Day Back with students
October 1: School Pictures - More information to come. Working with LifeTouch this year for underclassmen photos.
October 22: Parent Conference #1 (Parent Conference #2 will take place on March 18)
