May 2026 Update

MHS

Greetings

Good afternoon Woolie families,

We are officially in the home stretch of the school year as we have turned the corner into the month of May! Knowing that we are down to the last weeks of the 2025-2026 school year, we wanted to make sure to share this newsletter outlining the many things taking place throughout the month. From MCAS and AP testing, to performances and award ceremonies, and then culminating in the big build-up to Graduation. This edition of the Community Newsletter has it all!

We feel fortunate to have so many amazing activities taking place for all of our students, and we hope that you can join us at a variety of events. Our students and staff are working tirelessly to continue our focus on teaching and learning to close out the 2025-2026 school year strongly, and we are excited to showcase all that we have been doing.

As many know, we are about to embark on a major construction milestone here at MHS with the Roof Replacement Project beginning toward the end of the month. Please be sure to see the section below for more information.

Again, as I have said in the past, we genuinely cannot thank you all enough for your continued support of all that we are doing here at the Junior-Senior High School. We pride ourselves on continuing to have so many amazing things taking place for our students and families.

Sincerely,

Chris Lowe

Lastly, a tremendous thank you to our Director, Ms. Rieder! She did such an amazing job with the performance!

Campus Update

MHS Roof Replacement Begins

May marks the month that our Roof Replacement Project is slated to begin.

First and foremost, we want to thank the community for its continued support of our school and the schools within the district.

This project has been in the works for some time, and we are thrilled to be embarking on this journey.

As the weeks build closer to construction, I will be sending out updates regarding changes and adjustments to our typical operation.

We expect ot have tradesmen on site following Memorial Day, where they will be mobilizing their equipment and base of operations.

Please be on the lookout for an upcoming update, where I will share some specifics around the first phase of this project.

Please see the message from Ms. Flaherty regarding:

Hi everyone,

May is Mental Health Awareness month and several student groups; GSA, Woolies in the Community and Unicef, have teamed up together to sponsor wellness activities throughout the month.

Students are invited to participate in the following wellness activities:

5/7 - Mindfulness through crafting - come and see how different pastimes can help us relax. We will have gem art, sand art and coloring.

5/15 - Learn how to use controlled breathing to help manage stressful situations in the moment. We will make stress balls as an additional way to manage anxiety.

5/21 - We will be taking a brief look at using yoga and meditation as relaxation techniques.

5/26 - We will have stations with different ways to deal with stress and anxiety; making a relaxing playlist, creating a journal cover, more breathing techniques, and decorating cookies.

Use the QR code to sign up for one or more activities (some activities are limited in number so that we have enough supplies)
