To the Millbury Community,

We wanted to bring to your attention an ongoing issue regarding parking at Shaw Elementary School, particularly during HS Baseball games. Over the past few weeks, there has been an increase in illegal parking, which has created several challenges for both safety and access.

Some of those challenges have been:

• Parking has become a problem for families picking up their children from AfterCare.
• Emergency vehicle access has been hindered in the event of an emergency, which is a serious concern for everyone’s safety.

Please keep these things in mind when attending a HS Baseball game at Shaw:

• No parking is allowed along the driveway heading out of the school.
• No parking is permitted along the S-curve, and there are posted signs to remind everyone of this.
• No parking is allowed along the sidewalk at the front door of the school (or in the playground area).
• All vehicles must park in designated parking spots.

Additionally, the Millbury Police Department has reached out with concerns about the parking situation and will begin patrolling the area. They have informed us that if vehicles are found to be parked illegally, they will begin issuing tickets.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation. The safety of our students and families is our top priority, and we want to ensure that the area remains accessible for everyone.
