Please be on the lookout for your child’s i-Ready Mid-Year Diagnostic Growth Report, which will be coming home in backpacks today or tomorrow.
This report provides a mid-year snapshot of your child’s progress in reading and math, including:

  • your child’s current placement/score
  • growth since the fall
  • progress toward their end-of-year growth goal
At Shaw, we use i-Ready as one important data point (along with classroom work, teacher observations, and other assessments) to better understand what each student needs next. The results help teachers plan instruction, form small groups, and target support during our WIN (What I Need) block.

When you review the report with your child, a few helpful questions to ask are:
  • What growth are you most proud of since the fall?
  • What is one goal you want to work toward this spring?
  • What strategies are helping you most in reading and math?
