    R.E. Shaw Elementary School

    The Millbury Public Schools' is currently soliciting Request for Services (RFS) for an Owner's Project Manager (OPM) under MSBA's Feasibility Study for Raymond E. Shaw Elementary School (Grades 4-6). This includes the possibilities of existing school renovations, existing school renovations and additions or builidng a new school. This also includes the possibility of moving Grade 3 from nearby Elmwood Street School to the R.E. Shaw Elementary School. The information below will provide you with more information. The Owner's Project Manager is one of the first steps of the Feasibility Study.

    The Town of Millbury' Shaw OPM Selection Committee has reviewed and evaluated Request for Services proposals for an Owner's Project Manager and have selected Hill International of Boston, MA as our owner's project manager for the Shaw Feasibility Study. The selection of Hill International was approved by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) on 4-2-18. The Shaw Feasibility Committee will now be working with Hill International to assist us through the process and hire an architect.     The Shaw Feasibility Committee with Hill International are soliciting proposals for an architect under the MSBA Designer Selection Process. See information enclosed below for further information. All questions should be directed to Hill International as described in the procurement.

    Shaw Feasibility Designer Selection RFP

    The Town of  Millbury's Shaw Feasibility Committee has reviewed and evaluated with the Massachusetts School Building Authority Board Request for Services proposals for a Designer and have selected Turowski2 Architecture, Inc. of Marion, MA as our Designer/Architect for the Shaw Feasibility Study. The MSBA approved this selection on 7-10-18. The Shaw Feasibility Committee is very excited about this selection and look forward to working with Turowski2, along with Hill International, on the feasibility portion of our project.

    School Tours

    Some Shaw Feasibility Committee Members, Millbury Public Schools Leadership Team, Hill International and Turowski2 recently visited new schools including the three (3) pictured below. The Carver Elementary School in Carver, MA, the Jacobs Elementary School in New Bedford, MA and the Penn Brook School in Georgetown, MA are very similar to the size and grade configuration of the R.E. Shaw Elementary School. Turowski2 designed the Jacobs Elementary School.
